Baptism

On confession of faith in Jesus we (and our children) are baptised into the family of God.

In baptism we declare that we die to the things that separate us from God (saying sorry and turning from our sin) and rise with Jesus to new life.

This is not the end but just the start! The Bible tells us to go and make disciples (followers of Jesus) accepting his love for us and growing in our relationship with him day by day. For babies this will mean being taught about Jesus and one day coming to confirmation.

If you are interested in baptism for you or your child please get in touch on the form below.

Please be aware that we are only able to offer infant baptism/Christenings for families who live in Mottram Parish (Mottram, Broadbottom and Hattersley East) or who worship at St Michael’s.

Infant baptism is about bringing your child into the church community and promising to raise them as a Christian, with the help, love, support, and prayers of the rest of the church. Therefore the church need to get to know you and your family. As such, if you'd like a Christening, and do not currently worship at St Michaels, you will need to come to Sunday worship for at least three Sundays, before a date for the baptism is set.
