Friendship, Food and Fun!

Mottram Parish is delighted to be hosting our first ever Holiday@Home!

It's happening this week! Click here to see our Holiday@Home photo album!

Holiday@Home will be an opportunity to spend some time together, relaxing, enjoying friendship, food, and having fun! August can be a difficult time for some older folk, as families go on holiday and regular clubs and services close down for the summer. So, we’re hoping to bring some of the joy of a holiday atmosphere a little closer to home!

This summer, the event will be held at St Barnabas Meeting Point, Hattersley and will run over four days: Tuesday 31st July-Friday 3rd August. This includes a day out to St Anne’s on Wednesday 1st August.

On Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, doors will open at 10.00 am for coffee.  The day's activities will start at 10.30 am and finish at 3.30 pm.  Each day will have a varied programme, including games, entertainment, quizzes, crafts and singing, with time for refreshments and lunch.  There will be a range of things to do and you're free to join in as much or as little as you’d like. You'll have plenty of time and space if you'd prefer just to sit and rest a bit, or read a book or newspaper…

On Wednesday, the coach will pick us up from the Meeting Point at 10 am.  Our trip to St Anne's includes a hot lunch, which we'll all eat together, and we aim to return home for 5.30 pm.

We suggest a donation of £5 per day (Tues, Thurs & Fri) and £15 for our day out (Wed), to cover the cost of lunch.  If you would like to attend, but would find it difficult to make a financial contribution, please speak to Ruth Montgomery (01457 766173) or Rev James Halstead (01457 762268) in complete confidence.

Ruth's telephone:  01457 766173  e-mail:  ruthmontgomery@ (all our email addresses* end with mottramparish.org.uk) or use her contact form.

We’d love you to join us for this very special event! You’re welcome to come along every day, or just for one or two days. Why not bring a friend who you think would really benefit from a change of scene and some companionship?

To book a place, please fill out the registration form, which you can download by clicking here and return to Ruth Montgomery, in church, or c/o The Vicarage, 30a Broadbottom Rd, Mottram, SK14 6JB, by Sunday 15th July.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
